Groundwater exploration using vertical electrical sounding techniques in parts of Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria

Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) was carried out in parts of Etche Local Government Area, Rivers State, Nigeria to investigate availability groundwater. An ABEM SAS 1000 terrameter used. Schlumberger configuration adopted for the sounding acquire a 4 point data, with use ID Interpex software order know subsurface variations resistivity respect depth. The investigation revealed subsurface, thickness lithology, prolific aquiferous zones, curve portrays an overall increase trend ranging from 228.7Ωm - 5872Ωm. form ρ1< ρ2< ρ3< ρ4< ρ5, indicates presence conductive materials present at shallow depth survey. highest value is observed fifth layer and it believed have gravely sized particles. A stratigraphic particles this area good aquifer quality reasonable quantity fluid contained within interconnected pore spaces.
